2014 Dundee Cancer Technology PhD Fellowship for Clinicians

The Dundee Cancer Technology PhD Fellowship is a unique opportunity to develop expertise in applying cutting edge technologies to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.  This fellowship is specifically targeted to talented and ambitious junior doctors with an interest in medical technology, and who aspire to a career in any cancer related specialty.

This innovative fellowship has been modelled on the highly successful Dundee Discovery PhD Programme for Clinicians, and the successful candidate will benefit from experienced mentoring and guidance from practicing academic clinicians. It is funded by the Dundee Cancer Centre and offers a clinical salary, PhD registration fees and general training funds.  The anticipated start date is 1st August 2014.

The Cancer Technology Fellowship offers a choice of high quality research projects at the forefront of emerging technologies.  It is specifically targeted to cancer-related unmet clinical needs, including early detection, characterisation, and minimal/non-invasive targeting.  Supervisors are highly experienced, with an excellent track record in technological or translational research.  The successful candidate will be based within the Division of Imaging and Technology in the College of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing, University of Dundee.  Details of possible projects can be found here

Applicants may be from any clinical specialty, including surgery, imaging, oncology, and medicine.  We anticipate that most applicants will be at registrar grade, but we are happy to consider applications from individuals at other stages in their training prior to CCT.  Please check the eligibility criteria before you apply.
