The Dundee Cancer Centre PhD programme for Clinicians provides a structured training programme in cancer research for talented and ambitious junior doctors who aspire to a career in academic medicine.
The programme offers a choice of well-supervised, high quality cancer research projects at the forefront of international science. Research areas extend from the molecular mechanisms underpinning oncogenesis to therapeutic trials of novel anti-cancer agents. Fellows with a core interest in cancer may be from any clinical specialty.
This innovative and streamlined programme has been modelled on, and now runs in conjunction with, the highly successful University of Dundee/Wellcome Trust PhD Programme for Clinicians. Both programmes benefit from shared core elements, including a unique 6 week, full-time introductory course, experienced mentoring from practicing academic clinicians, and a generic skills training programme.
The next round of applications for September 2013 is expected to open in October 2012.
